When I first came into Yami no Matsuei fandom there were a handful of authors that everyone I came across insisted I read, and Gaki was one of those. Most of her fics are centered around a simple point of contention between Tsuzuki and Hisoka, an otherwise small detail that is painstakingly and rather poetically dissected to showcase the minutiae of the Shinigami's lives. She is not, however, as Sephy would say, a one trick pony. The bulk of lighthearted introspectives is tempered with Gaki's longest running and still ongoing project, Puppet Master, a far darker and more complex story that explores the dynamic between Muraki, Tsuzuki and Hisoka. Add to that the fun fact that she was the one who gave us the enduring pairing amalgamations like Tsusoka, Tattari and Hiraki, and you can see why everyone in the fandom knows her name.
