Bekquai is one of those authors you've never heard of, whose stuff you stumble onto one day while cruising through an archive and wonder how in the hell you missed them. She has a talent for evoking painfully clear images of her characters in a very small amount of space, the kind of haunting imagery that sticks with you long after you reach the end of the page.

She's also a great source of off the wall humor, and teaches us many valuable lessons about the dangers of eavesdropping, cake eating, and office pools
