What can I say about Amet? That's like trying to describe the undefinable. I could wax endlessly about her intelligence, her humor, and generosity of spirit but let's get down to the real reason you're here.

It's about the stories. And man, does Amet know how to spin a good yarn.

I hope you realize that the above is a massive understatement. I've been writing fan fiction for a long time, been reading it even longer and the caliber of Amet's writing is damn hard to come by. I'm not suggesting that reading one of her fics is like pulling Dickens off the shelf but it's pretty close. Her instinct for prose, for imagery, and motivation is unparalleled and often I find myself stunned by the breadth of the work she puts out (which is never, ever enough).

So to sum it all up: Read! Read her stuff now, damn you! You'll thank me later.

Series: Sleep to Dream



Since shortly before his death, Hisoka has been plagued by dreams foreshadowing events as they will come to pass in Kyoto. As he begins his new life in Meifu he must make a choice, to allow himself to love his new partner as his visions predict, or push him away in the hope that the timeline will be altered enough to avoid the destruction that awaits them both in Touda's fire. An AU series that follows the timeline of the anime with a slightly different perspective.

  • The Ending Hour ~ (1st) Hisoka is plagued by vivid dreams of an ethereal stranger and the other self who will love him. As his mortal existence finally ends, a visit from an enigmatic stranger offers a chance at happiness, and may bring more complications to the afterlife than he ever imagined. (PG-13; AUish, deathfic on a technicality, macabre humor, minor gore, and hyperactive Watari. Nascent Hisoka x Tsuzuki.)

  • Shadows of Ourselves ~ (2nd) Tatsumi endeavors to keep Tsuzuki away from the office as he prepares for the arrival of a new employee, but the older man is less than cooperative. In the face of Tsuzuki's objections and Watari's scheming, he wonders if he can still maintain some measure of objectivity where the two of them are concerned, or if his worry over Tsuzuki's situation will compromise his ability to work with the new arrival. Meanwhile, Hisoka attempts to acclimate himself to his new home and the people within it, beginning a search for answers as the dreams begin to shift into something entirely different. (PG-13; minor angst, minor swearing, and still with the hyperactive Watari. Nascent Hisoka x Tsuzuki and some ambiguous hand holding between Tatsumi and Watari.)

  • Walking Wounded ~ (3rd) First night on the job, and not only has Hisoka got a massive hangover, but the dreams have found new, more exciting ways to torment him, literally. Can he do what must be done in the face of temptation, or will Tsuzuki’s persistence kill his resolve? (R; AUish, sex, swearing and angsty goodness. Hisoka x Tsuzuki.)

  • Somewhere in the Middle ~ (4th) Watari confronts Tatsumi about his sudden hermit-ish behavior with a little friend for backup, while Tsuzuki and Hisoka have a talk about pie, Muraki, and the events of the Nagasaki arc. (Rish. Swearing, references to NCS, mangling of innocent pie and insistent doodle kins. Tsuzuki/Hisoka in whatever order and Tatsumi + Watari.)

  • Breathe You In ~ (5th) Tsuzuki's thoughts on nightmares, pedophilia, and his strange attraction to his new partner. (PG-13. Swearing, angst, passing references to past NCS, possibly spoilery bits for Devil’s Trill. Tsuzuki x Hisoka and fun hinting at Watari/Tatsumi.)

Randomness:

Despite the best of intentions, sometimes I can't keep my ficcing inside my series. ^^; This is where we plop the products of all night writing binges and otherwise random plotbunnies that don’t fit into Sleep to Dream and refuse to go away until I write them. The little buggers. O.o
  • Happy Face ~ A crappy day in the life of Terazuma Hajime. (PG-13; swearing, pissy Terazuma. Terazuma+Wakaba, TsuzukixHisoka, hints of Watari+Tatsumi)

  • Hold On ~ What's a boy to think after he's forced to come a hair's breath from killing the man he loves? A cut scene from the Devil's Trill that is totally independent of Sleep to Dream and its larger timeline. (PG-13; swearing, fun descriptions of gore, angst-ness. HisokaxTsuzuki)

  • Hakushaku Drabble ~ Written for WolfPilot06, who wanted a drabble that centered on Hakushaku's opinion of Hisoka. It ended up being more of a mini-fic, but I rather like the irreverence of the POV on this. (PG-13, barely there lime, Tsuzuki/Hisoka)

  • Hisoka Drabble ~ Affectionately known as 'Hisoka and the bootilicious outfit', this was written for Bekquai, who asked for an explanation of that infamous picture in the character book of Hisoka at the beach in short-shorts and a shirt that doesn't even attempt to cover his midriff... and yet somehow not looking murderous. You all know which one I'm talking about. (PG-13, light, light lime, Tsuzuki/Hisoka)
